This didn’t fix anything, in fact I wound up destroying my WiFi adapter driver profile which required removing the adapter from Device Manager and reinstalling it. That solved my problem. No Windows updates that I'm aware of. I am having the same problem but I didn't find the registry key they are talking about either.
