I guess you've tested the drive already, but what exactly did the SMART data attributes state about its health? You want to use/access/change it as little as possible until you get everything backed up. If it fails, you know instantly what file failed and you can also resume or restart file copy/move operations. Didn't realize why so I tried to clone and it popped up with sector errors. Clone Failed Hard Drive I was not in the recovery environment but was booted into win 7I booted into the recovery environment, I used the dos prompt to run chkdsk C: /F /R on my Option is to do a recovery and everything would be reset to factory settings.
