I followed the steps EXCEPT for the regedit and was getting error 412 trying to connect. I don't know how I am going to upgrade 160+ laptops (mostly in remote locations) to get our hardware registered/activated to use for Win 10. Make sure to go to restart the Cisco service cause it will be stopped. Select the DisplayName to modify, and remove the leading characters from the value data upto "%;" i.e. - For x86, change the value data from something like "@oem8.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco Systems VPN None of them worked for me. I had to remove all previous copies of sonicwall, cisco vpn client and pcf files. I did not need the new edit at the bottom of the instructions. My experience so far has been to reinstall (using the .msi) and then change the registry.

Don't forget to rename adapter on regedit. Cisco Vpn Client Download only did step 1 and 2. I just rolled back and won't have tume to re-upgrade until the weekend.

Unfortunately, I can't remember if I got my VPN to connect when I was still running Windows 8 and then it stopped when I "upgraded" (and I use that term loosely) The first will have a disabled Status, the second one will have a connected status. 3. Thanks for posting the solution. To correct this, locate the msi file, and right click on it and run a repair. Sign in to add this to Watch Later Add to Loading playlists... The service, some files, and most of the registry entries were removed.
